In Hyuga mythology, this is the pond where Izanaki-no-mikoto performed "misogi" (purification) to purge the defilement of the land of Yomiuri.
(2) Eda Shrine
It is one of the four Hyuga shrines mentioned in the Engishiki written in the Heian period (794-1185) and enshrines both Izanaki-no-mikoto and Izanami-no-mikoto.
(3)Miyazaki Jingu Shrine
The main deity is Emperor Jinmu, affectionately called "Jinmu-sama" by the citizens, and Ugayafukyaez-no-mikoto and Tamayorihime are also enshrined.
(4)Heiwadai Park
A peace tower inscribed with the words "Eight Hundred and One Worlds."
It was designed by sculptor Jizo Hinako, who also designed the "Yatagarasu," the symbol of the Japan Football Association. The bronze door depicting the departure of Emperor Jinmu is a must-see.
(5)Haniwa Garden
Reproductions of approximately 400 haniwa clay figures excavated in Japan speak of ancient romance in a quiet atmosphere.
